Can you earn money with Bitcoin nodes?
That's the question everyone wants answered in this bear market.
Questions I'm going to answer for you in this thread:
- What is a Bitcoin node?
- Why would I want a Full node?
- Can I make money with it?
- How to set up a full node?
What is a Bitcoin node?
Very briefly, a Bitcoin node is a computer that runs Bitcoin's software. It can be a miner or someone who runs the original Bitcoin software wallet that contains a copy of the entire blockchainThis software in turn is connected to other computers running the same program, other Bitcoin nodes, and together they create the entire Bitcoin network.
3 key features of a Bitcoin Node
A full node does the following 3 things:
Verify transactions.
Share information with other nodes.
Keeping a copy of all transactions on the blockchain.
Why would I want to have a Full node?
- You don't have to trust anyone / complete control
- It is safe
- Better anonymity
Trust
Running a full node as your wallet is the only way to be sure that all of Bitcoin's rules are being followed. You can't have unpleasant surprises.
Security
Running a full node for Bitcoin is also more secure than using a third-party wallet. It is not very common for third-party wallets to be hacked, but it has happened a number of times.
Anonymity
When you have your wallet with a third party, they can see exactly which Bitcoin addresses you use and manage. In your own full node wallet, this becomes a lot more difficult. You can create as many addresses as you want and the only one who knows them is you.
Can I make money with it?
No.. Although running a Bitcoin node does not offer any financial rewards or block rewards, it’s not all about altruism either. Running a node allows individuals to participate in the Bitcoin Core network and increase the security of transactions.
